The ones who still belong, most of them are afraid of the "good old boys" (stupid!) or they really just have no clue. I agree it is shameful that none of the informed people going have the guts. If there were time, I might rejoin just to circulate the petition! Shees people! Once again they will run off to their national show with their heads in the sand thinking it is all about loving cups. Not one person to step forward and bring a petition to oust a freaking H$U$ spokesman from the ranks as an approved judge! Unbelievable!! The rest of the purebred dog fancy hangs their heads in embarrassment. Shame on everyone who goes to that ridiculous excuse for a show! Once again, the collie people have outdone themselves. How can we, in our breed, expect other breed clubs and dog organizations such as the sporting dog alliance do anything to fight these bills when our breed club won't do it! What an opportinity that we have to make mark in history and what a shame that nothing will be done! I am not sending any dogs to the Nationals and from the sounds of it, only 1/2 are going than previous years, around 750 dogs this year and down from 1500. This kind of affliation isn't something I want or need! I spend a LOT of time fighting local legislation, why would I want to spend money every year to support a group who thinks the rights of individual breeders are less important than a single member's opinions. If he wants to make his opinions known, he should make it clear hes NOT speaking as a representative of the club, let alone the fancy at large! If we all ban together we can fight this but there will be those who still will enter the Nationals. One year of no one going could make a big impact on this. I will never enter a show that has Paul as a judge. I read that Bob and Paul are friends and there is nothing wrong with that but the friendship sound not interfere with Bob being the President of CCA. He should stand up for the CCA and what the members want not on the side of his friend. I love my dogs and have tested them for all things that I can and am not afraid to put it up on my website for everyone to see. I have only had one litter of collies and that was back before I knew or learned of all the testing that should be done and have not had a litter in the past 20 years and will not until it is the right pair and they past testing. My dogs have a loving place in my home. They are groomed everyday and bathed every other week. They have their own building that is air conditioned and heated with a dog door that they can go in and out of any time they want. My husband and I spare no expense when it comes to our dogs. They are as much our family as our kids are. We play in the back yard daily. They sleep at our bedside. It would be a very sad day if there were no longer any dogs or for that matter animals in this world. I think this is outrageous that someone who is a AKC judge would be on the side of the HSUS. The CCA is nothing without its members so the powers that be had best sit up and take notice. Those attending need to formulate a petition now, and organize a group to be passing it around among the members and directors calling for the board to act immediately on the dismissal of the HSUS representative slash CCA member. All directors and board members must be given opportunity to sign and show their position. The petition needs to be presented to the CCA president before the close of the event, and the presentation needs to be witnessed by several parties. Copies need to be kept and circulated widely to show what has been done. AKC needs to be notified, as well. If this is done and no action results, the president and board member positions will be in jeopardy and appropriate action should then result. The CCA is supposed to represent the best interests of the Collie, and when it flagrantly does otherwise, the members need to organize and act.
